Who I Am

Hello, world! My name is Rachel Mihulka. I'm a young woman who strives for adventure and seeks new opportunities everywhere I turn. I'm an energetic PR student who is about to enter into the working world.

I adore my new boss. Her name is Patsy, and she is such a kind- hearted person. I've worked in the same office for about two years now, and as time went on, I became more and more unhappy. Although I still work in the same office, my job has completely changed. Since day one, Patsy made me feel welcome and appreciated and gave me positive feedback every day. I love going into work, because I know Kendra, Patsy, and I will have a great day while still being productive.

The reason I love my job is because I am constantly improving my own work. Patsy is very approachable and always available to answer questions. (Even though I probably ask a million a day!) She thanks me often and tells me how much being her assistant helps her out. Also, when I do make mistakes, she gives me positive feedback on how to further improve.

Moving from my current roles as student and student worker into the real world, I think I can transfer a lot of the skills and work over that I currently possess. Physically, I am working on a lot of resumes, cover letters, and practice press releases that will give me the writing skills necessary to succeed in public relations. In school, I think I have developed a lot of patience, drive, thoroughness, and creativity that I lacked coming into college.

For my last year and a half of college, I plan on seeking out as many opportunities as possible. I want to get an amazing PR internship in a large city this summer, so I am beginning the process of searching and applying. (If you have an opportunities for me, contact me!) Then during my final year of college, I want to go to as many job fairs as possible, meeting PR representatives from all over the United States. I also hope to take more classes that require writing to get more samples into my portfolio.

Follow me during this next semester as I experience the world of public relations writing!
